The South Charlotte Sports Report Fall Prep Baseball Camp is the perfect way to 
spend three mornings right before the season starts. As the summer break comes to an end, it becomes time to focus on fall baseball. Many players may not have picked up a bat or ball since late May. New opportunities will present themselves this fall. Maybe the player is moving to coach pitch, machine pitch or player pitch for the first time. There are new fundamentals to learn in order to make a succssful move up the ladder. The Fall Prep Camp presents a perfect opportunity to work on any challenges the player has faced in the past or will face in the future.
Our professional instructors, led by former 13 year professional baseball player and Charlotte native Jake Robbins will provide first-class instruction for baseball players age 5-13. Jake, along with area high school coaches and former professional baseball players will lead the campers through a variety of top-level baseball instruction drills.
Instruction topics will include:
- Swing technique and the positive approach to becoming a successful youth hitter
- Fielding techniques and how to approach each opportunity from various positions on the field
- Base running skills that will allow players to maximize each hitting opportunity
- Beginning pitching and the protection of young arms. At this level, the most important aspect of pitching is proper technique to reduce arm stress
Our younger campers will focus more on the basic fundamentals of the game of baseball. Our goal is to teach the skills needed to place each player in position to succeed in the game of baseball. We believe early success can lead to a higher level of confidence in both baseball and in other aspects of childhood.
Each camper will take well over 100 swings per day and begin to develop the rhythm needed to feel comfortable at the plate. Regardless of the child's age, a basic understanding of how to properly swing the bat will lead to greater success and enjoyment playing the game of baseball.
